About Me

I have always been fascinated by science, I simply love it. When I was a child, I was always curious to understand everything around me, which led me to have a scientific career.

I studied a bachelor’s in Chemistry and Nanotechnology. During my undergrad studies, I collaborated on a research project focused on developing nanoparticles to use as drug delivery agents to the brain. With this research, I fell in love with neuroscience and decided to continue my graduate studies in this area. After college, I moved to Saudi Arabia to study a master’s in Bioscience under the supervision of Prof. Pierre Magistretti working on a project analyzing the brain energetics of young and aged brains using computational tools and virtual reality.

Currently, I am doing a double PhD. One in Bioscience in Saudi Arabia working for Prof. Pierre Magistretti, and another in Neuroscience in Italy working for Prof. Corrado Cali. My research focuses on brain metabolism in memory stability working with behavioral models, and analyzing brain samples with electron microscopy and 3D reconstructions.

I am committed to the promotion of women in science and their work. I collaborate with Wikimedia Mexico and Científicas Mexicanas to improve the biographies of women in science on Wikipedia. Alongside, I am a science communicator because I strongly believe that science has to be shared to serve its purpose.
